AT A GLANCE
A robot is a programmable machine designed to carry out specific tasks, often with a degree of autonomy.
The true birth of modern robotics began in the mid-20th century with significant milestones like Early Industrial
Robots (1960s), Advancements in Computing (1970s-1980s), Rise of Artificial Intelligence (1990s-Present).

To understand how a robot works, it’s helpful to break it down into its main functional parts, much like
understanding the different systems in the human body which includes Mechanical Structure (The Body) and
                        Control System (The Brain).

Sensors are electronic devices that detect and measure physical quantities or events in the environment and
convert them into electrical signals that the robot’s control system can understand.

An Autonomous Robot is a robot that can operate entirely on its own, without continuous human intervention,
once it has been given a task or a general goal whereas a Semi-autonomous Robot is a robot that performs
tasks with a degree of independence but still requires human oversight, input, or intervention for certain
decisions, complex situations, or safety protocols.

As robots become more sophisticated and integrated into our society, it becomes imperative to consider the
broader implications and future directions of this field.

The integration of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) has propelled robotics into
a “new age,” moving beyond simple automation to create highly intelligent, adaptable, and collaborative
                        systems.

The main components of Robots are System Visualisation, Design, and Creation.
Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet
                        the project requirements.

                    1. The term "robot" was first introduced in:
                         i. 1921 in a play called R.U.R. ii. 1956 in a laboratory experiment

                    2. A robot that mimics human arm movements is called:
                         i. Drone ii. Manipulator
