A robot’s arm uses an actuator system to perform a series of Skills
delicate movements. The precision of the actuators is critical for accurate execution. How do
deep actuators contribute to a robot’s overall precision, and what factors should be considered when
thinking choosing actuators for different robotic applications?

“Measure Degrees of Freedom of a Robotic Arm”
Tools: A toy robotic arm kit (or DIY cardboard arm with joints + servo motors + Arduino).
                             l
Task: Count and test the DOF of the robotic arm.
                             l
                             Steps:
                             l
                             1. Assemble or simulate a robotic arm with joints (base rotation, elbow, wrist, gripper).

                             2. Connect each servo motor to Arduino.
                             3. Write code to rotate each servo by specific angles (e.g., 0°, 90°, 180°).
                             4. Observe how each joint adds a new degree of freedom.
Outcome: Students practically see how DOF and joints affect robot flexibility.
