COMPUTER—A SMART MACHINE

In the previous class, you have learnt that machines make our work easy and

            efficient.
A computer is a smart machine that helps us do many things, like watching

movies, listening to music, playing games, drawing pictures, writing letters,

solving sums, etc. It works on electricity. Hence, a computer is called an
electronic machine. In this chapter, we are going to explore how computers
            are different from humans.

                     COMPUTERS AND HUMANS

Computers have become an important part of our lives but they are very
different from us. Let us see how.

                                                                        Humans cannot work as fast
                         Computers work fast.
                                                                                 as computers.

Computers cannot make mistakes. Humans can make mistakes.

Computers cannot get tired Humans can get tired and bored.
                               or bored.

                                                                         Humans can work without
                 Computers need instructions to work.
                                                                                 instructions.

Computers cannot take decisions Humans can take decisions
on their own. on their own.

Computers store everything in Humans can forget information
the memory and never forget. stored in their brain.

                                                                     Humans do not need electricity
                   Computers work on electricity.
                                                                                  to work.
