Magnetic Disk

A hard disk with a magnetic coating is referred to as a magnetic disk. It allows for
the recording and erasing of data multiple times.

                 Hard Disk

The hard disk consists of one or more magnetic disks
called platters. Each disk in the pack has top and bottom
surfaces on which data is recorded using a magnetic head.
A hard disk is permanently fixed in the computer system.
It is usually used for permanent mass storage. The most
important function of the hard disk is to store program files
                 and data files.

The hard disk comes in a variety of sizes with storage
capacities as high as 5 TB (TeraByte) or even more. The
CPU accesses data stored on a hard disk much faster than
                 other storage devices.

External hard disks are also available. They are designed
to be connected to computers through a USB port, making
them portable and easy to use with different systems.
They offer the convenience of expanding storage capacity
without the need for internal installation and are commonly
used for backing up data, transferring files, or increasing
storage space on laptops and desktops.

                        Boost Bits

The first hard disk was introduced by Seagate in 1980, which could hold 5 MB
                  of data.

                 Optical Disc

An optical disc is a medium for storing electronic data. It uses a low-powered
laser beam for writing and reading information. There are three types of optical
discs: CD, DVD and Blu-ray. An optical disc generally has a longer lifespan than a
                 magnetic disk.

                 Compact Disc (CD)
A CD is an external storage device that can
hold up to 700 MB of data. A CD drive serves
as a device for reading data from a CD. It is
typically installed inside the CPU box, or it can
also be connected via a USB port. CD CD Drive
