STORAGE DEVICES

Other than input devices, processing device and output devices, a computer also uses

storage devices. The storage devices are used to store our work. Some of the storage
              devices are:

              Hard Disk

It is fixed inside the CPU box/cabinet. It can store the files that we
create on computer and can be used later.

                                                CD and DVD

These are small storage devices. The storage capacity of a
DVD is more than a CD.

Pen Drive or USB Flash Drive

It is a very small storage device. The storage capacity of a pen drive is
more than a DVD but less than a hard disk.

To use a pen drive; insert it in the USB port present USB
                                                                                                              Port

                         Timeline

Input devices are used to instruct the computer what to do.

Keyboard, mouse, microphone and scanner are some of the input devices.

The device that works on the input is called a processing device. CPU is the processing
                       device.

Output devices are used to give the results.
Monitor, printer, speakers and headphones are some of the output devices.

Storage devices are used to store our work.

Hard disk, CD, DVD and pen drive are some of the storage devices.
