STORAGE DEVICES
Other than input devices, processing device and output devices, a computer also uses
storage devices. The storage devices are used to store our work. Some of the storage
devices are:
Hard Disk
It is fixed inside the CPU box/cabinet. It can store the files that we
create on computer and can be used later.
CD and DVD
These are small storage devices. The storage capacity of a
DVD is more than a CD.
Pen Drive or USB Flash Drive
It is a very small storage device. The storage capacity of a pen drive is
more than a DVD but less than a hard disk.
Hintbot
To use a pen drive; insert it in the USB port present USB
Port
on the CPU box/cabinet or laptop.
Timeline
Input devices are used to instruct the computer what to do.
Keyboard, mouse, microphone and scanner are some of the input devices.
The device that works on the input is called a processing device. CPU is the processing
device.
Output devices are used to give the results.
Monitor, printer, speakers and headphones are some of the output devices.
Storage devices are used to store our work.
Hard disk, CD, DVD and pen drive are some of the storage devices.
